Around the Dia de Muertos parade in 90 pictures

OK, I can sit here all night and write about the beautiful Catrinas and Catrins. About the amazing make-up jobs and costumes. About how people came from all over the world just to parade from Calle Cordo to the Ancha to the Jardin in Centro.

Did I mention this is San Miguel de Allende, the most magical city in the world?

No, I didn’t. And I won’t go on because this is one time, my friends, when pictures speak way louder than words.

Remember, you can click on any picture to enlarge it. If you see one you like, download it to your own pages. Share this blog with those you love. And like it, if you like it. (None of this means revenue for me. I just want you to be happy and smile more ….)

Here are 90 photos from Saturday night’s parade of Catrinas and Catrins, some mojigangas, a few goblins, and a ghost or two thrown in for good measure.

I started at the parade staging grounds — Calle Cordo — then headed down Aldama Extension toward the Rosewood, which annually disgorged some of the best-looking Catrinas and Catrins of the night. Those folks put their heart, soul, and pocketbook into some fine Muertos costumery.

Finally, I worked my way back up the Ancha, against the tide. That’s it. Couldn’t make my way into Centro if I wanted to. Paraders and parade-watchers filled the streets. You’ll love these folks, though. I can feel it!

Here we go!
