“Everybody was so stressed about climbing the Pyrenees yesterday that making new friends was the last thing on their minds,” a young friend suggested today.
We were marveling at how social everyone had become overnight.

So true. Unlike yesterday, people were stopping together for coffee or lunch or a snack and at cafes, people went from table to table, chatting it up.
It was a good feeling.
Almost as good as the kindness of the path today.
Warm, welcoming trails through wooded copses and forests. Small and attractive villages with welcoming sidewalk cafes and bakeries.
There were hills to climb but the slopes were gentle.
I developed a sharp pain in my right knee and sure enough, someone conjures up a jar of arnica. A little dab did it and I finished strong in Zubiri.

I learned today that starting your laundry by hand at 3 pm is going to leave you with a pile of wet shorts and socks in the morning. Not sure what I’m going to do with that.
Tomorrow is an “easy” walk to Pamplona. About the same distance as today but even fewer hills.

Lights out at 10 pm so I’m giving you a bunch of photos to tell the rest of the story.
Buen Camino, whatever path you are on.
