San Miguel de Allende, The Week in SMA

SMA Events, Aug. 25-31: Woody is leaving, Angela’s back, party in the Jardin, fundraiser for chess prodigies — a peek at next month

Look, it’s not that I don’t love you. I do. I adore you. I love how you get out and make the most of all the wonderful things that make up San Miguel de Allende. Our relationship to date has been a bit one-sided. I get it. You’re busy. You don’t write. You don’t call. But that’s OK. You’re page views tell me I’m getting through.

It is just that, well, we need some time away from each other. Put it another way, I’m going away for a while. And where I’m going, you can’t reach me and I won’t be able to reach you. That’s just the way it is. Just the way it’s got to be.

We’ll always have Scotland.

At least I will. That’s where I’ll be for the next few weeks. Hiking the Highlands. Maybe in a kilt. I don’t know yet. Depends on if the smidges are biting.

I have unchained my staff of feral writers and they immediately scurried into the dusty and dark cantinas in which I first found them and harnessed their skills to the art of event journalism. By now, they are as drunk and useless as when I first found them. Perhaps they will be there when I return.

So, I can’t post. Meanwhile, I’ve added a few things at the end of this week that look like they will be fun while I’m gone.

If you are at a loss for what to do, you have options: DiscoverSMA, Lokkal events, San Miguel Live!, News San Miguel, and grab a copy of the print paper Insiders News which is getting better with each edition.
